In a move poised to boost Georgia’s economy and industry, JS Link America Inc. — a U.S. subsidiary of Korea-based JS Link — is investing $223 million into a rare-earth permanent magnet facility located at Muscogee Technology Park in Columbus. The project will generate more than 520 new jobs and strengthen the supply chain for industries like electric vehicles, data centers, and energy.
Governor Brian Kemp announced the multi-million-dollar initiative on September 3, 2025. The 130,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is designed with an annual capacity of 3,000 tons of permanent magnets — making it one of the largest rare-earth magnet plants in the U.S.
Starting operations in late 2027, the Columbus facility will create over 520 jobs in engineering, production, construction, administration, and management. These high-quality roles strengthen workforce opportunities in West Georgia.
Permanent magnets are vital components across diverse sectors — including electric vehicles, wind turbines, medical devices, robotics, data centers, and defense systems. Having this manufacturing facility in Georgia enhances domestic supply chain resilience and contributes to national security.
JS Link’s expansion of its U.S. operations underscores a commitment to building a value chain with Western allies. Their U.S. facility complements a similar operation near completion in Yesan, Korea. It aligns with broader strategic efforts to diversify critical mineral manufacturing.
