Atlanta's September Social Scene: 7 Unmissable Events To Fill Your Calendar

Celebrating arts, food, music, and community this September in Atlanta

September in Atlanta is a perfect blend of late-summer energy and the early signs of fall. From festivals that showcase local culture to performances that bring world-class artistry to the city, this month is packed with reasons to explore. Whether you’re looking for fashion, music, food, or philanthropy, these eight events highlight why Atlanta continues to shine as a hub for entertainment and community.

1. The Mane Event

Cherokee Town & Country Club, 155 W. Paces Ferry Road NW
September 4–14, 2025

This signature fundraiser benefits the Red Clay Rescue Center. Guests can look forward to an evening of music, dining, and auctions, all emceed by Daniel Britt. Longtime Atlantans know this gala is as much about impact as it is about celebration.

2. Atlanta Food & Wine Festival

665 North Ave. NE
September 11–14, 2025

Since 2011, the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival has brought together chefs, sommeliers, and culinary experts from across the South. This year’s lineup includes more than 200 participants. The festival blends indulgence with sustainability, with Tasting Tents, chef-led dinners, and curated food experiences. Tip: Tasting Tent tickets often sell out quickly—reserve early.

3. Making an Impact Fashion Show

Silverspot Cinema, The Battery, 960 Battery Ave. SE Ste. 5000
September 18, 2025

St. Jude’s inaugural Making an Impact Fashion Show promises an evening of creativity and couture. With Henderson and Winchester presenting, and proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, this is a night where fashion meets philanthropy.

4. Women’s Power Luncheon

Now in its 8th year, the Meals on Wheels Women’s Power Luncheon gathers Atlanta’s most philanthropic leaders for a meaningful afternoon. It’s a chance to celebrate women making a difference in the city while raising support for a vital cause.

5. Shaky Knees Music Festival

Piedmont Park
September 20, 2025

Known for more than a decade as Atlanta’s top indie and alternative rock festival, Shaky Knees returns with a powerhouse lineup. Performers include Deftones, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, and Cage the Elephant. Local tip: MARTA or rideshare is the best way to avoid parking headaches at Piedmont Park during festival weekends.

6. Cheer for Children Ball

September 25–28, 2025

This black-tie optional ball supports the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy. The night features live music, stories of impact, and a live auction. Guests will also enjoy sponsor-exclusive packages. All proceeds go toward ending child abuse, trafficking, and violence.

7. Atlanta Art Fair

Back for its second year, the Atlanta Art Fair is quickly becoming a citywide favorite. With more than 60 galleries, curated exhibits, and live performances, this fair puts Atlanta on the global art stage. Under the artistic direction of Nato Thompson, the event blends local and international voices in one creative space.

Atlanta’s September lineup blends food, fashion, music, art, and philanthropy. Be sure to mark your calendar so you don’t miss these standout events.

Searching for Atlanta Homes For Sale, or thinking about selling your own?

I’m Nadine Lutz, one of Atlanta's top Realtors with Compass Buckhead, and Atlanta has been home to my family since 2003. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to help so many neighbors achieve their real estate goals, and I’m honored to be recognized with the Phoenix Award and as a Multi-Million Dollar Club Life Member with the Atlanta Realtors Association.

Awards aside, what matters most to me is guiding people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives with honesty, care, and local expertise. If you’re ready to explore Atlanta homes for sale or make your next move, I’d be grateful for the chance to help.
